1. Deleting Application Data and Document

You should know about the differences between deleting data and deleting documents and offloading apps in iPhone.

  • Go to settings > General setting > Tap on iPhone storage >
  • There you can see a list of application of iPhone
  • Tap on an application of which documents and data iPhone you want to delete
  • There you get 2 options – offload app and delete app; if you chose offload app, that will delete your app temporarily to free up space of your app but the data and document remain same, it will not be deleted. So you can use “delete app” option to delete all document and data of that application.

Some application used to save their data in iCloud. To delete the data from iCloud, follow the steps:

  • Settings > tap on the profile picture of your apple Id > iCloud
  • There you can see iCloud storage details and the apps who using the iCloud storage. There tap on “manage storage”
  • Now chose the app for which you want to delete data and document
  • You will see the size of all individual data and document of that app with some files. Tap on “how to delete documents and data on iPhone” to delete all document and data of the application permanently (make sure the data & documents not so much important).

2. Deleting Web Browsing Data and Document

Apart from application data, document deletion, there is another type of data and document are stored for like- browsing history, offline data,  website caches, etc for our regular use of the internet. These data also take space in our mobiles or iPhones. So we need to clear that data also to free our memory or phone storage.

There is a Safariweb browser in an iPhone which stores those web data and documents. To delete those web-related data and documents

  • Go to setting > tap on General > iPhone storage > go to Safari application
  • In the safari app, tap Website data > Remove all website data > remove now
  • There is also two more option – Offline reading list and History. You can also delete those using the same previous process.
